Greece Trip 2009!

I am going to Greece in April for Spring Break! Woot! I am so excited for this trip. It makes up for me not being able to go on Eurotrip 2009. There are about fourteen people going so far, plus the teacher chaperones. Some people that I know who are going on the trip are Katie L., Shannon, Sarah, and Azra. We are not only going to Athens, but we are visiting the Greek Isles as well, including Santorini. We are going to look for the Traveling Pants. We might be riding on donkeys! Also, we get to take a cruise around the islands. We're going to see the Parthenon and Poseidon's temple, which will remind me of The King Must Die. I am going to take so many pictures on this Greece trip. We are leaving on the Thursday before Spring Break, and we come back on the Saturday before school starts up again, so we will be there for ten days. We will be stopping in Heathrow to switch planes, and we will probably have time to shop in Heathrow, so technically I will be able to say that I've shopped in London. Greece is so aesthetically pleasing; the water is so blue, and the buildings are gorgeous, at least in Santorini. I imagine that all of the other cities and islands are beautiful as well. April is seven months away, which is quite a long time, but I'm so excited for this trip already. This is a picture of the island of Santorini:

So, I'm no longer an alcohol virgin! I had a sip of wine at a party last night. Sally accidentally poured herself wine instead of a fizzy pear juice thing, so I had a sip of her wine. It had an..interesting taste. Anyway, just wanted to report that. Yup.

First off, I have to say R.I.P. Troy. Although I didn't know you that well, I was in class with your sister. I was just so shocked when I heard the news. I haven't kept in contact with your sister, but I saw your mom a few weeks ago. I'm so saddened and sorry. You and your family and friends are in my prayers.

Second, my thoughts on the SYTYCD finale:

Now that I've finished watching seasons 1-4 of "One Tree Hill", I have to wait for season 5 to come out on DVD, and for season 6 to premiere. I feel like I have nothing to watch, but I actually do. It's just that I was basically watching all the seasons in mini-marathons, so I'm not watching the same show for, like, 8 episodes each day. Now I'm watching "Law and Order: SVU" reruns on USA and "Full House" and "Nancy Grace." Heh. Now that the Olympics are on, though, I'll probably be watching some of that, if it's at a good time (because of time difference/tape delay.

I really need to start my summer assignments. Ew.

A Full Weekend Ahead.

I am so pumped for Friday right now! Thursday night, we'll head to the theater, wait in the line, and hopefully get good seats. Then previews (maybe the 15 second teaser for HBP?!) and then..TDK! This is probably the MOST hyped Summer 2008 (if not just 2008) movie, and I can't wait. Really. Yup. Then I'll come home, crash (maybe), and that night it'll be time for....
COLDPLAY!
I'm so juiced to see them live. I mean, it's COLDPLAY. *squee* I'm so excited for it. I really hope they play "Clocks", "Yellow", "The Scientist", "Fix You", "Speed of Sound", "Viva la Vida", "Violet Hill", and all of my favorites. I think that we're going to the same Mexican food place as we did when we went to see John Mayer last year, so that will be fun. It's odd that my mom is going to be in a separate section though (with her boyfriend). Hmph. Then on Sunday, I think I'm going to a baseball game with my dad. Woo, full weekend ahead.

I am a SENIOR!

I am officially a high school Senior! I can't believe that the Class of 2008 graduated tonight. That means that they're all at Grad Night, dancing and taking pictures and signing yearbooks and talking and reminiscing. I screamed with glee when the last bell rang today. Pretty much everyone did, actually. We were running around going "WE'RE SENIORS!" It was pretty awesome. There were seven people in English class today. We just signed yearbooks, and in Chemistry we watched a movie about endangered animals being sold on the Black Market. It was depressing, so someone put tape over the projector thingy, and we turned the sound down. The teacher didn't notice for about five minutes. In film, we watched part of Easy Rider, which was kind of boring, but the characters reminded me of James and Sirius. It was pretty great, even though I got a C for my semester grade.

After school, my friends and I got burritos for lunch, and we went over to our other friend's house. We ate, signed yearbooks, went online, listened to Edith Piaf, and played LIFE a bit. Then I went to the grocery store, came home and went online, changed, and went to movie night. We watched Grease and there is so much sub-texty slashiness between Kenickie and Danny. We were going to watch Xanadu, but by the time we got the pizza, we most likely wouldn't have had time to watch the whole movie. We gossiped and played a game instead. We were all extremely hyper.

I flippin' love this song ("I Kissed A Girl" by Katy Perry). It's really, really catchy. Everyone seems to be singing it these days. I also like the song "Ice Cream" by Jeffree Star. It's possibly one of the most sexually inappropriate songs ever. Jeffree Star is like Chris Crocker and Hegwig, only with pink hair. I also love Coldplay's "Violet Hill" and "Viva la Vida". My friends and I want to see them next month in SJ, and tickets go on sale in eight hours and thirty-seven minutes! I'm juiced. I love the "Pork and Beans" music video and the "Don't Stop the Music" video.

Anyway, Summer is finally here. I have tons of homework for AP and HP classes, but.. it's Summer and I'm JAZZED!

I feel bloated and I have a really bad tummy ache. My mother is out on a date tonight, and it sucks because, well, I don't know how to feel. I hate this, because I feel bad for my father, and yet I understand why my mom wants to divorce him. This all sucks muchly. So indeed, when my mom wanted to meet her date (whom I've technically already met), I was kind of mad, because of course she tells me before that he isn't one to be a father figure for me. I hate this sosososo much.

On the Europe front, I still need a job, but it turns out that I have money in a separate account. Also, we found a few apartments that can be rented out for a week or so, and we're going to look into those, most likely. I am super juiced. It's about a year away! I think we're going to have another planning meeting soon.

Court of Awards was on Friday, and that was pretty cool. We had elections, recited the Girl Scout Promise and the Girl Scout Law, and got our badges and our year pins. We also had a potluck, and the food was yummy. I ate lots of banana bread. I loved the pasta, and yeah, it was all very yummy.

There are only five more days of Junior year! Finals are this week, and I had SAT IIs yesterday. They were very hard. I totally forgot most of the stuff from first semester of U.S. History. I want finals to be over, and then at 2:55 on Friday, I'll be a SENIOR! WOOHOO! That makes me super juiced.

EEEE!

Comment on this post and I will choose seven interests from your profile. You will then explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along.

I was given these:

A Million Little Pieces: It's a great book that I read for book club last year. I never finished it though. :/

Colin Firth: He's SEXY. I love him in Love Actually and What a Girl Wants. He's BRITISH YUMMINESS.

Foo Fighters: Dave Grohl is awesome. The music is awesome.

Justin/Kelly: Okay. Well, back in Summer 2002, a show was introduced to the U.S. American Idol. Justin and Kelly were on that first season, eventually being the runner-up and winner, respectively. Well, long story short, they became known to many fans as "Jelly". Pseudonym? Is that the right word? Tell me if it isn't. I know there's a word for a combined name. Anyway, I became obsessed. Not too much until later; I didn't have an e-mail to join sites and such. That obsession, for lack of a better word, stays with me.

Marlon Brando: SEXY. Especially when being whipped by his on-screen father.

Spamalot: Sara was in it. :) I <3 the music. Thanks Mindy. :)

To Kill a Mockingbird: I read it in 8th grade and in 10th grade. It's amazingly written and it's awesome.

Last nights Grey's was probably one of the most comedic episodes from ANY season.

“No because we screw boys like whores on tequila.”- Mer. WIN!
"I mean, I am a HUGE fan of penis."- Callie. WIN!

Callie was hellahella giggly around Hahn, so Addie's suspicions make sense. And although Callie/Hahn would be HIGHlarious, I <3 Mallie too much. Poor tumor guy, though. That was really sad. BUT MALLIE DANCING IN THE BAR! EEEE! *hyper squeal of delight* I wish Addie would come back, even though I LOVE her on Private Practice. The Addie/Callie/Hahn dynamic is win, so.. I love the Mallie right now, and I'm glad that stupid Gizzie stuff is over. CODED! LMAO. I don't get the joke, but whatever.

I love The Graduate. The first time I watched it, I didn't like it much, but now I think it's awesome. I love the soundtrack, and some of the scenes are pretty spectacular, especially the whole montage. I also love the "man in the tank" scuba diving in the pool scene. As awfully humiliating and embarrassing to Ben as it is, it works because Ben is his parents' prize trophy in a sense. Even though he can be independent of them, they still take too much pride in showing him off to all of their "adult" friends.

I AM DONE WITH STAR TESTING. NO MORE STAR TESTS. GO ME. STAR TESTS SUCK HELLA MUCH. However, none of the stuff that we reviewed for in History was even on the test. Ugh. Unfortunately, I have to take the SAT tomorrow. Eww. I still have to sign up for the June SAT. Gotta do that soon. I think I MIGHT do U.S. History and English Literature for my subject tests, but I'm not sure. Ugh. It's so stressful and I hate it so much.

Fourth Quarter is HERE!

  • Apr. 16th, 2008 at 7:43 PM

And now were finally at the home stretch! It's fourth quarter! Finally! Eight-and-a-half weeks left! Then I'll be an incoming senior! AHHHH! I really hope that the person I want wins for Senior Class President. I think she will do much better than our current Junior Class President. I want next year to be awesome for us, the Class of 2009. Despite the pressure of applying and getting into and prepping for college, I think it'll be fun. As for my classes, I really want to know what I got!

I am pretty upset that I got a freakin' C in English for third quarter, but I have to blame myself. I have to blame myself for History too, if that's what I got. I didn't do all of my homework. I am really going to try this quarter. One thing I really won't blame on myself is a bad grade in Chem. The teacher puts things on our tests that aren't in our notes or our book. "I just expect you to know it." Okay, that's worse than college level. It's such BS. We're all fed up with her. And our final is a week from tomorrow. Ahh!

Next summer seems so far away, but that is why me and my friends are doing preliminary planning for a potential trip to Europe. We want to go to England, Wales, Scotland, and France. It will DEFINITELY be VERY expensive, but I am planning to get a job and keep it through the end of next year. I am probably going to ask for money from my parents and grandparents, instead of presents for Christmas and my birthday. I'll basically be making my lunch every day next year. I won't be able to just randomly buy stuff.
